ADRIAN, Mich. – Heading to Michigan for the 2026 spring break, East Texas Baptist University swept a tri-meet with Adrian College and Calvin University moving to 3-1. ETUB scored 189.645 points to Adrian's 157.890 and Calvin's 112.675 and had four 8.0+ scores.
ETBU started the meet with 24.25 points in the Compulsory ahead of Adrian's 20.75 and Calvin's 17.90. Two of ETBU's four 8.0+ came in this event with an 8.85 in the Pyramid Heat and an 8.30 in the Toss Heat. Adrian made up ground on ETBU in the Acro Event as they scored 19.40 points to ETBU's 18.95. Calvin also came away with 19.10 points. ETBU had a 7.75 in the 5-Element as their best score.
Just before halftime, ETBU scored 23.65 points as Adrian cut into ETBU's lead with a 25.30 and Calvin had a 24.80. In the Synchronized Heat, ETBU had an 8.90 as their top score in the event. ETBU then had a slim lead at the half over Adrian, 66.85 to 65.45 as Calvin had a 61.80.
The Toss Event was close between ETBU and Adrian as the Tigers took the event, 22.15 to 21.95. Their best heat was the 450 Salto with a 7.80. ETBU then scored 38.025 in Tumbling scoring a 7.85 in the Aerial Pass. Adrian scored 30.90 points as Calvin had 32.075.
In the final event, the Team Event, ETBU scored 62.62 points to Adrian's 39.59 to take the meet with 189.645 points.
ETBU travels to Angola, Ind., on Friday for a tri-meet against Trine University and Concordia University Wisconsin at 5:00 p.m.
