JACKSON, Miss. – Traveling over to Mississippi for a dual with Belhaven University, East Texas Baptist University shutout the Blazers, 7-0, moving to 7-5 on the year. It is their fifth shutout of the year and their second in the last 10 days.
In doubles, ETBU won at no. 2 (
Amelia Anding/
Fernanda Ruiz Burkart) and no. 3 (
Neyna Gonzalez/Alexis Strong) by default.
Kristyn Dunn and
Jazmyne Ford-Schartner took the no. 1 match, 6-1, for the doubles point.
Monique Ybarra started singles with a 6-0, 6-0, win at no. 1 while
Isabella Macquet won the no. 2 match, 6-0, 6-1. Strong took the no. 4 match, 6-1, 6-2, while Gonzalez (no. 3), Anding (no. 5), and Ford-Schartner (no. 6) all won by forfeit.
ETBU will host NCAA Division II Henderson State University on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m.
