LONGVIEW, Texas – Holding off LeTourneau University, East Texas Baptist University moved to 8-6 on the year with a 6-1 win over the Yellow Jackets. ETBU has now won four of their last six matches.
 
The doubles matches were two sided as ETBU took the no. 1 match, 6-0, with Monique Ybarra and Isabella Macquet and the no. 3 match, 6-2, by Amelia Anding and Fernanda Ruiz Burkart. ETBU fell at no. 2, 6-4, but won the point.
 
ETBU cruised at no. 1  and no. 2 singles as Ybarra took the first match, 6-0, 6-2, and Macquet won at no. 2, 6-1, 6-3. Ruiz Burkart earned a win at no. 3, 6-4, 6-1, and Anding won at no. 6, 6-0, 6-1. Jazmyne Ford-Schartner won a no. 5 by retirement at taking the first set, 6-1.
 
ETBU starts ASC play on April 3, in Brownwood, Texas, against Howard Payne.
