BROWNWOOD, Texas – Sweeping through Howard Payne University, East Texas Baptist University opened the American Southwest Conference slate with a 7-0 win over the Yellow Jackets on the road. ETBU is now 9-6 and 1-0 in the ASC.
ETBU won two matches in doubles play by forfeit
Kristyn Dunn and
Jazmyne Ford-Schartner won at no. 1, 6-2. In singles play,
Monique Ybarra took the no. 1 match, 6-2, 6-0,
Isabella Macquet on the no. 2 match, 6-1, 6-3, and
Amelia Anding won at no. 3, 6-3, 6-1. Ford-Schartner,
Neyna Gonzalez, and Alexis Strong all won by forfeit.
ETBU will host Mary Hardin-Baylor on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. in ASC play.
