MARSHALL, Texas – On the final day of the NCATA Division III National Tournament, East Texas Baptist University competed in seven Event Finals as the top three overall qualifiers for the three-day championship. ETBU also had three student-athletes making All-Tournament and six All-Academic selections.
ETBU participated in the Inversion Pyramid, Salto Toss, Synchronized Toss, Trio Tumbling, Aerial Tumbling, Six-Element Tumbling, and Open Tumbling. In the Tumbling Events, Maddie Lowe, Kate Cozart, and
Eva Dicken were in the Trio Tumbling.
Kennedy Kolander made it in the Aerial Tumbling, while Cozart was in the Six-Element, and Lowe was in the Open Tumbling.
Making the NCATA Division III All-Tournament First Team were
Chesni Speaker and
Brooke Silvertooth. Lowe was named to the All-Tournament Second Team. Dicken,
Hannah George, Lowe,
Kylie Pittman, Silvertooth, and Speaker earned All-Academic awards.
ETBU finished the year with five wins for a new program record, ending with a victory on Friday night over Buffalo State.
