BELTON, Texas – Finishing as the American Southwest Conference Tournament Women's Tennis Championship runners-up, East Texas Baptist University finished their season against the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. The Cru took the match, 4-0, over ETBU as the Tigers finish at 10-10 on the year playing the program's fifth ASC Tournament Championship.
Monique Ybarra and
Isabella Macquet were named to the ASC All-Tournament team.
ETBU fought hard in the doubles round as Ybarra and Macquet won the No.1 match, 6-1.
Kristyn Dunn and Jazmyn Ford-Shartner fell at No. 2, 6-4, and
Fernanda Ruiz Burkart and
Amelia Anding lost the No. 3 match, 6-3, as UMHB took the point.
In singles play, Macquet fell at No. 2, 6-1, 6-2, and then Ford-Shartner lost at No. 5, 6-0, 6-0. UMHB clinched the win with a 6-1, 7-5, at No. 6 as Anding fell in the match.
ETBU has now had double digit wins in four out of the last five seasons and played for the ASC Tournament Championship the past two years winning it in 2025.
