BROWNWOOD, Texas – Taking a sweep to start the American Southwest Conference season, East Texas Baptist University blanked Howard Payne University, 7-0, moving to 10-6 on the year. ETBU is now 1-0 in the ASC and will host Mary Hardin-Baylor on Saturday at 9:00 a.m.
ETBU took all three doubles matches, 6-1, as
Sam Black and
Max Karseno (no. 1),
Mark Armbruster/
Erick Van Zyl (no. 2), and
Jacob Daniell/
Jaco Snyman (no. 3) all won their matches for the first point.
In singles, Snyman (no. 2), Armbruster (no. 3),
Baptiste Berthier (no. 5), and Karseno (no. 6) all won their matches, 6-0, 6-0. Black took the no.1 match, 6-3, 6-1, and Van Zyl won at no. 4 6-1, 6-1.
