#TIGERSWIN | WS | ETBU's First Half Pressure Leads to 3-1 Victory Over Ozarks

CLARKSVILLE, Ark. — Taking control in the first half, East Texas Baptist University earned their third win of the year defeating the University of the Ozarks (AR) 3-1 on Friday. ETBU scored twice in the first half and finished with a 10-6 shot advantage, putting seven shots on goal, for their second win in a row.
 
Ryan McClain scored the security goal in the 44th minute for a 2-0 lead and added an assist to finish with three points. Grace Dale recorded two assists for the Tigers. Caroline Smith scored the first goal and put her only shot on frame. Claire Flowers added a goal on her only shot. Taylor Lauster collected three saves with one goal against facing four shots on goal.
 
ETBU turned its first-half pressure into a 2-0 lead, with Smith scoring off McClain's assist at 32:22. McClain then added a goal from a Dale assist at 44:00. The Tigers generated repeated set-piece chances to start the match, including eight corner kicks in the half and an Audrey Hall shot saved in the ninth minute, while Ozarks (AR) was limited to one shot before halftime.
 
Flowers scored from Dale's second assist at 66:52, giving ETBU a 3-1 lead as Ozarks scored in the 54th minute. Lauster made three saves in the half, and the Tigers generated three shots from 85:52 through the final whistle as ETBU took the win, 3-1.
 
ETBU travels to Seguin, Texas, to face Texas Lutheran on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. at Gustafson Field.
