The ETBU Ice Hockey team arrived to a beautiful snow in Bratislava, Slovakia for the eighth trip of the ETBU Tiger Athletic Mission Experience (TAME). The group of 22, consisting of student-athletes, coaches, and ETBU staff, arrived in Bratislava on Thursday afternoon, after stops in London and Vienna.
Upon arrival, the team checked into the hostel and headed to a local restaurant for a traditional Slovakian dinner. After dinner, the group conducted a brief orientation at the Bratislava City Church, with the staff from International Sports Federation, who is the ministry partner the hockey team will work alongside during their time in Slovakia. After introductions and orientation, the team spent closed the evening with praise and worship and team prayer.
"We are thrilled to arrive in Bratislava and excited about what the Lord has in store for not only the people we encounter on our trip, but also for the guys on the Tiger Hockey team. Everyone is pretty exhausted after traveling for the past 36 hours, but we are looking forward to a light practice tomorrow, before ministering at a community center and to the homeless on Friday afternoon and evening. We are appreciative of the support we have received to make this trip possible, both financially and prayerfully, and I cannot wait to watch our guys use their God-given talents and abilities to share their faith this week," Vice President for Athletics
Ryan Erwin said.
