COLLEGE STATION, Texas -For the first time in program history, the East Texas Baptist University hockey team swept the Texas A & M Aggies improving to 9-2 on the year. ETBU took game one on Friday, 7-3, and then held off the Aggies, 4-3, in the second game on Saturday.

In game one,
Caleb Goudreau and
Timothy Zittel each scored two goals apiece. The other three goals came from
Jason Guntow, Dominic Desjardin, and Mitch Dolese.
Tyler Fitzgerald was in between the pipes stopping 13 of the 16 shots faced.

On Saturday,
Tristan Aun was the first to light the lamp.
Jason Guntow and
Timothy Zittel both claimed goals for the second night in a row as the game was tied at three. The game winning goal came from
Carson Loos for the 4-3 win.
Angus Laing was in net with 15 saves facing 18 shots.

Game 1: ETBU 7, TAMU 3

After a scoreless first period, the Aggies would break through at the 15:49 mark to go up 1-0 in the second period. Wasting no time, the Aggies grabbed their second goal of night just 1:13 later, with 14:36 left to go moving the score to, 2-0. ETBU's
Caleb Goudreau sparked ETBU's offense with 13:52 left scoring off of a pass from
Tristan Aun. Just 1:03 later, Goudreau scored the game equalizer on a power play (12:11) with help from Filip Soderström. Zittel then scored back-to-back goals within 30 seconds to put the Tigers up, 4-2, to end the second period on assists from
Matt Duncan and Soderström.

Guntow scored early in the 3rd period at 14:28 to heighten the lead to three goals, 5-2, with help from Mitch Dolese. Two minutes later, Desjardin took advantage of another power play opportunity and scored with help from Duncan (12:34) extending the lead to four, 6-2. Dolese had some help from
Carson Loos and Zittel for the final goal as ETBU went up 7-2. The Aggies continued to battle scoring with just 7:18 left in the game as it became a 7-3 final.

Game 2: ETBU 4, TAMU 3
ETBU didn't hesitate to score early in the second game.
Tristan Aun found the back of the net just over six minutes into the game (13:52) with assistance from Loos. The Aggies tied the game up on an ETBU penalty kill for their first goal at the 7:08 mark.

The second period brought numerous penalties by both teams. ETBU went on their fourth power play halfway through the period as Guntow took advantage of it.
Spencer Mills found Guntow open in the slot passing it up to take the lead, 2-1. The Tiger's lead didn't last long as Texas A&M scored the equalizer with 6:59 left to play. With less than a minute left to play, the Aggies scored for a 3-2 lead to end the second period.

The first 7:11 of the third period was scoreless. It was Zittel who took a pass from
Corder Helmick to score the equalizer with 12:49 to go.
Carson Loos scored the go-ahead goal for ETBU with just 10:45 left. The defense then held Texas A&M scoreless as ETBU took swept the series, 4-3.

ETBU will next play on October 29-30 in Euless, Texas, against Southern Methodist University.
