GAME 1: ETBU 6, UT 3
Â
The Tigers had a slow start in Friday's tilt. The Longhorns started out on top scoring just 1:16 into the game. Mills had the equalizer with assistance from
Dominic Desjardins and Loos leaving 9:41 left in the period. Loos grabbed his own goal roughly six minutes later putting the Tigers up, 2-1, to end the first period.
Â
Goudreau pushed the Tiger's lead to 3-1 just 40 seconds into the second period. Shortly after, ETBU went on the penalty kill and Texas took advantage scoring to shorten their deficit to one, 3-2. With 9:03 left, the roles reversed and ETBU went on the power play. Having the one-man advantage, Baird found the back of the net to go back up by two, 4-2, wrapping up the second.
Â
The third period started out much like the first as the Longhorns scored first reducing the lead to 4-3. Feeling the pressure, ETBU focused on defending their zone for most of the third. It wasn't until 10:23 after UT's goal that the Tigers got back on the board. Begley, with assistance from Soderström, scored with 8:27 left in regulation. The remainder of the game went scoreless until Soderström scored a power play goal at the last second of the game to secure the Tigers 6-3 win over the Longhorns.
Â
GAME 2: ETBU 9, UT 1
Â
After facing adversity the night prior, the Tigers didn't leave any room for chance in the final game of the series. The first half of the first period went scoreless for both teams. Desjardins got the ball rolling at 9:45 with ETBU's first goal unassisted. Goudreau scored the first out of the three goals he tallied off a pass from Soderström at the 6:39 mark. Only 31 seconds later, Goudreau and Soderström did it again with help from
Matt Duncan putting ETBU up, 3-0. In just a minute, the Longhorns snagged the game's first power play scoring their only goal with just 2:51 left in the first. That brought the score to 3-1 as the first period ended.
Â
Both teams skated patiently in the beginning of the second period. Captain Dolese's 11:11 wish came true when he scored his only goal of the weekend with 8:49 left in the period, increasing the Tiger's lead to 4-1. A mere 0:29 later Mills and Loos set up Desjardins to score his second goal of the night. Scoring quickly in just 2:45 after the last goal, the same line did it again, except this time Desjardins set Mills up to score as ETBU went up, 6-1. In the last few minutes of the second, the Tigers were on the penalty Kill defending their zone. A one-man disadvantage didn't stop Goudreau from scoring a short-handed goal on a break-away with 0:42 left in the period. Goudreau's second goal of the night brought score to 7-1 as ETBU entered the final 20 minutes of the game.
Â
The third period started with Mills scoring his second goal of the evening just over four minutes in. His goal was assisted by Loos and Desjardins. Roughly 12 minutes went by scoreless until Buchanan scored his second goal of the season and first of the weekend with 3:52 left. His goal would be the last scored by either team—bringing the final score to 9-1.

ETBU will host Texas on Friday and Saturday, December 3-4, at George's Pond in Shreveport, La.
