Game 1: ETBU 7, CTX 2 (7 Inn.)
The Tigers struck first in the top of the first inning as Wilson drove in Miller with a two-out RBI double for a 1-0 lead. Though ETBU forced the Tornadoes to strand two runners on base in the bottom of the first, they couldn't keep CTX off the board as the Tornadoes would take a 2-1 lead by way of an error and sacrifice fly. With Sherman in the game to pitch, he would hold the Tornadoes scoreless in the third inning.
ETBU would tie the ballgame in the fourth with an RBI single from McAdams. Then, in the fifth inning, ETBU loaded the bases with two outs when Wilson drove in two runs on a single. CTX would load the bases in their half of the fifth before Arellano got the final hitter to ground out to Miller. The Tigers would capitalize in the sixth on an RBI bunt single from Neel and a pair of wild pitches brought home three runs to extend ETBU's lead to 7-2, which they held on for the remainder of the game.
Game 2: ETBU 5, CTX 3
Neither side would come through in the first three innings although CTX had chances but couldn't bring in the runs. Following a double-play from CTX in the fourth, ETBU had a two-out rally, which culminated with McAdams drilling a double to left field scoring the first run of the game. Barry then followed with another double scoring two and giving ETBU a 3-0 lead.
Miller led off the fifth inning with a solo blast to lead 4-0. The Tornadoes did load the bases in the bottom of the fifth before Alvarenga kept them in check with a strikeout to end the inning. A wild pitch would make it 5-0 for ETBU in the top of the seventh for the final run in the nine-inning game. CTX did cut the margin to 5-3 in the bottom of the seventh inning and would load the bases in the bottom of the eighth inning before a strikeout ended the threat. Despite one last rally from CTX in the ninth, the Tigers held on for the win.
ETBU will look for the series sweep tomorrow at 1:00 PM.
