BISMARCK, N.D. - Despite keeping it close after the first period, the #14 East Texas Baptist University hockey team couldn't overtake #7 Dakota College at Bottineau in the second and third periods falling, 7-2. ETBU is now 11-8 with one more game in their group vs. #10 Adrian College.

Timothy Zittel and Caleb Goudreau each netted a goal for ETBU. Goudreau, Ryan Gruszka (two assists), and Filip Soderstrom would each record an assist for the Tigers. Both Tyler Fitzgerald and Nick Bozzuto combined for 39 saves in goal.

The Lumberjacks opened with a goal just two minutes into the first period. Another seven minutes went by before Zittel scored for ETBU (9:47) to tie it at one. DU would record two more goals to end the first period up 3-1. The score would then be 4-1 nine minutes into the second period.

Goudreau netted a goal to cut the deficit to 4-2 in the second period. DU made it a three-goal lead again before the second period ended. By the end of the third period, the Lumberjacks added two more goals to take a 7-2 win.

ETBU's last group game will pit them against #10 Adrian College on Saturday at 1:30 PM.
