#TIGERSWIN | HKY | ETBU Finishes Big Mountain Classic Undefeated Taking Out Colorado, 6-4

BOULDER, Colo. – Capping off an undefeated trip to Colorado, East Texas Baptist University held off Colorado University, 6-4, to go 4-0 in the Big Mountain Classic. ETBU is now 22-2 overall and ranked in the top 10 in the West Region.
 
ETBU traveled back to the University of Colorado-Boulder's rink for the final game of the clasic. Filip Soderström tallied two of the total six goals scored. Bowen Buchanan, Timothy Zittel, Caleb Goudreau, and Devon Baird each scored a goal for ETBU. Tyler Fitzgerald was in-between the pipes stopping 14 out of the 18 shots on goal.
 
Game 4: ETBU 6, CU 4
After 8:42 of the first period went by scoreless, Buchanan took a slap shot from the blue line, bouncing off the goalie's blocker and into the net for the 1-0 lead. The Buffalos responded shortly after by scoring the game's first equalizer with only 4:37 left. With only 3:25 to go before the first intermission, Soderstrom put the Tigers back on top with an unassisted goal, 2-1, headed into intermission. 
 
The Tiger's started out the second period with a two-man advantage on the ice. Just 5:29 in, the puck deflected off the CU netminder and Dolese chipped the puck to Zittel who then scored for the 3-1 advantage. The Buffalos used two power play opportunities to score two more goals in the second forcing a 3-3 tie. 

Starting out the final period, with 14:07 remaining, Goudreau snuck a goal in-between two CU defensemen and through the goalie's five-hole, putting the Tigers back on top, 4-3. Less than two minutes passed by, and the Tigers were able to draw a power play opportunity. used this advantage to tally his second goal of the game, assisted by Carson Loos, improving the Tiger's lead to 5-3. With 10:55 remaining, Baird knocked in a goal for the Tigers, assisted by Noah Gaudette, making it 6-3. Trying to stay alive, The Buffalos responded with only 6:46 remaining to come within two, 6-4, but that is as close as they would come as ETBU finished off the classic undefeated.
 
ETBU will continue their regular season with two home contests this Friday at 7:00 and Saturday at 2:00 against Texas State.
