SEGUIN, Texas – Playing in 23 mph winds on Friday night, the #25 East Texas Baptist University baseball team came up short in game one, 12-10, to Texas Lutheran University. ETBU is now 14-4 on the year.
 
Jacob Sherman started the game going five innings with eight strikeouts. Jagger Neely followed with 0.2 innings and one strikeout. Trent Clark finished the final 2.1 innings and received the loss recording three strikeouts.
 
Jase Jones was 2-of-4 with three RBI while Nick Massarini had one hit and three RBI. Will Kelley and Christopher Robinson also had two hits. Earning a RBI were Zachary McAdams, Kelley, Brett Wagner, and Charles Gordon. Wagner had a solo home run for ETBU.
 
It came down to the eighth inning where ETBU scored three runs to tie the game at 10. TLU then hit a two-out two-run home run to take the lead, 12-10. ETBU then went 1-2-3 in the top of the ninth as TLU took game one.
 
They will face off on Saturday at 12 p.m. in a double header.
