SHREVEPORT, La. - Offense was the name of the game for East Texas Baptist University as they triumphed over Centenary College, 4-0. ETBU is now 4-1-3 and has recorded six straight shutouts.
Savannah Woods started the scoring for ETBU quickly in the first half in the 6th minute. After strong defense by both teams, ETBU found the net in the 41
st minute on a shot by
Grace Shurley that assisted by
Ryan McClain. That gave ETBU a 2-0 lead at the half.
ETBU didn't take their foot off the break as in the first sixteen seconds in the second half as
Mallory Duncan found the back of the net in the 46th minute giving the tigers a 3-0 lead. Shurley wasn't done with her offensive performance for the night as she recorded another goal in the 76th minute to finish off Centenary, 4-0
The Tigers had 19 shots on the game with 15 on goal.
Kameron Tatum was in goal recording the shutout with one save as Centenary had only one shot.
ETBU heads to Abilene, Texas, on Saturday for their first ASC contest against reigning ASC Tournament Champion Hardin-Simmons University at 7:30 p.m.
