MARSHALL, Texas – Winning their fourth straight match, East Texas Baptist University had a 6-1 victory over regional opponent the University of St. Thomas Houston. ETBU is now 4-3.
ETBU took two of the three doubles matches for the first point.
Kristyn Dunn and
Jazmyne Ford-Schartner won in a tie breaker, 7-6, and then
Amelia Anding and
Isabella Macquet won at no. 3, 6-2.
In singles, ETBU won five of the six matches, with
Monique Ybarra winning at no. 1, 6-3, 6-1.
Fernanda Ruiz Burkart took the no. 2 match, 6-0, 6-3, and Macquet won at no. 3, 6-3, 6-1. Dunn won at no. 4, 6-4, 7-6, in a close match, and Anding gave ETBU the sixth point at no. 6 with a 6-3, 6-4 win.
ETBU's next match will be on March 9 in Florida vs. Ohio Northern University.
