MARSHALL, Texas – Taking to the road for the first time in 2019, the East Texas Baptist University acrobatic and tumbling team travels to the East Coast. ETBU will face Limestone College (S.C.) and Belmont-Abbey College (N.C.) on Thursday and Friday.
ETBU hosted their inaugural meet on February 9
th against three-time NCATA national champions Baylor University. It was an exciting first meet as ETBU scored 161.95 points to Baylor's 282.18. ETBU scored 29.20 in the compulsory event for the top score. They scored an 8.90 in the toss event and an 8.25 in the pyramid for two of their top single scores on the day.
In the toss event, ETBU gained an 8.75 in the third heat as the team scored 24.60 in that category.

Madison Dyer scored a 8.75 for best score of the night in the open portion. ETBU scored a 7.75 in the 450 Salto and an 8.10 in the synchronized.
Limestone College won their first meet of the year over West Virginia Wesleyan by seven points, 246.84, to 239.75. Their top event was the compulsory where they scored 33.25 overall. In the toss heat, they scored a 9.10 and a 9.55 in the pyramid. They then scored 48.30 in the tumbling event with an 8.9 in both the aerial pass and 6 Element.
On Friday, ETBU will face first-year program Belmont-Abbey College. BAC opened up at Converse College where they fell, 266.19-115.82. Their best score came in the pyramid with 22.65 points. They scored an 8.55 in heat 3.
ETBU will take on Limestone College at 5:00 p.m. central on Thursday and Belmont-Abbey College on Friday at 6:00 p.m. central.
