PHILIPPI, West Virginia – The East Texas Baptist University acrobatics and tumbling team wrapped up their spring break trip as they took on Alderson Broaddus on Saturday afternoon. ETBU fell short 264.265 to 204.115 to the Battlers moving them to 1-4 on the season.
In the Compulsory event, ETBU started off with a 26.25 to 37.25 from ABC. ETBU's best event was the toss heat as they posted an 8.50. In the acro event, ETBU posted a 7.60 in heat one which was their best score. Alderson Broaddus won the event 27.70 to 20.25
Despite posting an 8.85 in the open pyramid heat, the Tigers were unable to keep up with Alderson Broddus as they won the event 28.50 to 24.60. In the toss heat, ETBU posted a 22.60 compared to Alderson's 28.20.
Staying close in the tumbling heat, ETBU scored 40.825 and Alderson had a 51.775. ETBU scored an 8.525 in the open heat. In the team event, ETBU was outscored 90.84 to 69.59 to close out the meet.
ETBU will return to Marshall next Saturday as they are set to host Concordia University (Wis.). The meet is set for a 12:00 p.m. start.
