PREVIEW | @ETBU_AcroTumb Headed to the Midwest

MARSHALL, Texas – Heading north for their next two meets, the East Texas Baptist University acrobatics and tumbling team is traveling to the Midwest. They will face Concordia University Wisconsin on Thursday night and Adrian College (Mich.) on Saturday. ETBU is 0-1 on the year.
 
ETBU is coming off a close loss in their first meet of the year in Ornelas Gym. ETBU started off the meet in front with a 33.55-30.95 lead after the compulsory event. They posted scores of 7.95 in the acro heat, 8.35 in the pyramid heat, 9.00 in the toss heat, and 8.25 in the tumbling heat. Lower scores in the next three events put them behind. The other event ETBU did well in was the tumbling event. They came away with the win, 42.400 to 42.025. The open pass was the top heat with an 8.675.
 
Last year, ETBU fell to CUW, 207.580-224.795, in Marshall. After the compulsory event, ETBU was trailing by just a point to CUW, 28.40-27.40. ETBU scored a 9.10 in the toss heat for their best individual score of the day and had a 6.60 in the tumbling heat. CUW moved five points ahead of ETBU after the acro event as they scored 26.55 points to ETBU's 22.80. ETBU recorded an 8.70 in the 6 element event. ETBU stayed close in the pyramid heat scoring 24.10 points to CUW's 27.85. ETBU had a 7.80 in the inversion, 7.70 in the synchronized, and 8.60 in the open.

ETBU tied CUW in the toss event with 24.30 points each. ETBU had an 8.00 in the 450 Salto, 8.30 in the synchronized, and an 8.00 in the open. In the tumbling event, CUW scored 39.23 points to ETBU's 35.10. ETBU's top score was a 7.60 in the open pass. In the final team event, CUW came away with 78.47 points to ETBU's 73.88 points to win the meet by 17 points.
 
ETBU is on spring break and traveling to Wisconsin first and then Michigan.
