MEQUON, Wisc. – Coming down to the final team event, the East Texas Baptist University acrobatics and tumbling team fell short of a victory over Concordia University Wisconsin, 242.625-236.035. The 236.035 is the most points recorded in program history.
Starting off the meet, ETBU was less than a point behind CUW in compulsory event, 32.65-31.90. ETBU had a 9.05 in the pyramid heat and then a 9.55 in the toss heat. They began with an 8.00 in the acro heat. It was the acro event that CUW took a larger lead with a 25.00 to 21.80 win. ETBU's top score came in the 7 element event with a 7.60. The final event before halftime was the pyramid event. ETBU trailed by just 1.55 in this event, 27.60-26.05.
After halftime, ETBU kept it close in the toss event scoring 25.60 points to CUW's 26.20. Their top score was an 8.90 in the synchronized event. ETBU then won the tumbling event, 46.175 to 46.025. In the open pass, they had an 8.825 and then an 8.6 in the aerial pass. The meet ended on the team event where ETBU scored an 84.51 but CUW scored a n 85.15 to win the meet.
This meet is the final meet of the year as the NCATA has cancelled the rest of the spring season due to the COVIDA-19 virus.
