A&T | ETBU Starts New Season Facing Off at UMHB

BELTON, Texas – In their first meet of the year, the East Texas Baptist University acrobatics and tumbling team scored
 
ETBU started off the meet with 30.250 points in Compulsory. Their best event was the Pyramid Heat gaining a 9.450. They began with a 6.70 in the Acro Heat and posted a 9.05 in the Toss Heat with a 5.05 in the Tumbling Heat. UMHB pulled ahead of ETBU by 6.3 points scoring a 36.550 with their best heat in the Pyramid at 9.80 .
 
In second event of the meet (Acro), ETBU's best score came in Heat 1 with a 7.75. They finished with 19 points scoring a 7.60 in Heat 3. UMHB's best score came in Heat 3 with a 9.250 finishing with 27.25 points. After two events, ETBU had 49.250 points to UMHB's 63.80.
 
The final event before halftime was the Pyramid event. Scoring 20.75 points, ETBU earned a 9.65 in Heat 1 (inversion). They also finished with an 8.90 in Heat 3 (Open). At halftime, ETBU trailed UMHB, 92.10 to 70.00
 
Coming out of halftime, ETBU had three Heats in the Toss Event. Their best score came with a 6.90 in Heat 3 (Open). They finished with 16.50 points going into Tumbling. In the six Passes in Tumbling, ETBU had a 7.65 in the Duo Pass and 7.30 in the Trio Pass for their top scores coming away with 39.25 points.
 
Ending the meet in the Team Event, ETBU scored 39.25 points for a total of 195.200.
 
ETBU will host Baylor University on Wednesday, February 16, at 6:00 p.m. in Ornelas Gym.
