MARSHALL, Texas – Trying to break through to the top three programs in the American Southwest Conference, the East Texas Baptist University men's track and field program is picked to finish fourth this spring. ETBU received 39 votes overall from the coaches.
ETBU finished in third place in 2019 and only had one meet completed in 2020 when the season came to an end.
Mack Broussard returns as the reigning ASC Point Champion and Most Outstanding Track Athlete from 2019. He won the 5,000 meter run and the 1,500 meter race along with the 10,000 meter run.
Detaveon Lewis claimed the 100 meter dash (10.81) and the 4x100 meter relay also took first place.
They open the 2021 season on Feb. 23 at LeTourneau University.
